Rilke Restaurante


Rilke is the collaboration of Grup Confiteria and Grupo Kafka. Led by Jaime Tejedor in the kitchen under the guidance Rafa Peña, Rilke has quickly become the dining darling of the Eixample area. Located in a clandestine location, it takes a little smarts to figure out where to enter and how to enter, as if you’re going into an exclusive London club. 


What can we say about the wine selection at Rilke? Not enough. A deep wine list of esteemed vintages, plus a great selection of Catalan greatest hits means you can go from €26 a bottle to close to €1000. Everything from Priorat, Montsant, Penedes, Emporda, Terra Alta, and a fine selection of cavas means you discover pretty much anything the region has to offer. The sommelier at Rilke is well-versed to give you the best recommendations to align with your cuisine selections. 


Wow. Wow. Wow. A Michelin star should be on the way for this dynamite kitchen team. The combinations of pork, lamb, beef fish with an innovative appetiser menu offering unique spins on salads (the caesar is a favourite) to their take on classics including escalivada means you will never ever be disappointed. 


Your senses are blown away from the moment you step through the giant oak door into a gorgeous bar/casual seating area acting as a staging area for all the wonderful little spots where you can relax in style. Private booths, classic dining area, private rooms, and a secret door thru the wine cellar gives a little something for everyone. You will feel like you’re in a private and exclusive members club.

Secret Tip

If you’re a cigar fan, you just might be in for a special treat, especially when paired with the bar’s take on the classic old-fashioned cocktail called “Bonaparte.”
