Once a month the hosts of the V&A Show on English Radio 106.9 present a tasting sponsored by The tasting features two Catalan winemakers presenting three of their wines, sharing their vineyard history, and their individual expertise in the wine industry. This is event #4!

We’re pleased to feature Llopart, a Penedes winery just outside Sant Sadurni d’Anoia, a winery which has been producing grapes since the 1300s, and was one of the first in Spain to produce cava, beginning in 1887.

This is a chance to mingle with the stories and anecdotes behind the wines you’re tasting, straight from the lips of those who spend their days shaping, making, and cultivating their special expression of the particular indigenous climate, terroir, and soils.

Our second winery, Mas Vicenç, has been in viticulture since the 1950s, with its new generation, led by brothers Vicenç Ferre and Xavi Ferre, making award winning wines since 2006. You’ll enjoy their fresh take on Catalan wines, including one of their wines which won a bronze medal at the 2015 Vinari Awards.

This an opportunity to participate in an intimate gathering of fellow wine lovers, and enjoy a conversation along with a very special tasting from the wines which surround the Barcelona region. Our venue will be an apartment with dynamic views of the Mediterranean and the skyline in Poblenou.

Your tasting will be hosted by Virgil Simons and a representative from As a special treat, the April edition will feature chef Joel Serra Bevin. Joel recently successfully published his first cookbook, Papalasophy, raising over 20.000€ through a Kickstarter campaign.
